Sanctification: Resources on Overcoming
Sin |
We Sacred Namers have gotten really good at identifying sin,
defining sin and even analyzing sin. But has anyone ever
developed a systematic theology for OVERCOMING
sin?
Starting in 1989, The Congregation of Yahweh, Nottingham,
England, published a series of articles on the subject of
Sanctification. At Tabernacles 1989, I and one other brother in
the Faith saw the No. 33 issue of HaShem Magazine, which
introduced this topic. After about 2 years of earnest prayer and
inquiry, we both received this blessing, at about the same time,
though we were geographically separated by 100's of miles. Some
people receieve this gift immediately upon asking for it, some
receive it immediately upon baptism, and still others like me
have to ask and then wait.
In anticipation of some misunderstanding: I noticed, at
various points in my quest, some confusion over whether
Sanctification was an event, or else a process. After carefully
considering all of the evidence, Sanctification is a process
that begins at a specific point in time. But the witness that
one receives in his spirit about this gift is usually referred
to as the point at which they received Sanctification. There,
indeed, comes a moment when everything is different, and the
worst is behind you. It should be noted, too, that this
experience is neither a Pentecostal nor Charismatic doctrine. It
is something available to all, and the earliest Assemblies
walked in this.
There is a fine collection of testimonies herein. Keep in
mind that everyone's experience is going to be a little
different. For me, even six months after receiving
Sanctification, I was still lying in bed at night giggling over
my Salvation. Others may have a quiet and uneventful transition
to a victorious life.
Downloads can take several minutes each for these scanned-in
Issues of HaShem Magazine. They range from 6MB to 8MB in size.
Please be patient. I URGE YOU to FIRST read the editor's
introduction in the No.33 Issue. That will surely set the tone
for your own quest for this ancient and overlooked blessing.

I hope that the collection of testimonies and teachings in
these three magazines will inspire you to seek total
Sanctification. |
Issue No.33 Introduces the Topic of Sanctification by doing a
review of what great preachers in the past knew about this
blessing. The articles are written by modern saints who received
Sanctification in Yahshua. It is important to note that even
great Evangelists from over 100 years ago knew about this
important gift. The personal testimonies of Pastor Warsop and of
Brother Daniel Smith place this experience in a modern context
to which we all can relate.

Upon publication of the issue on Sanctification, The
Congregation of Yahweh, Nottingham received numerous inquiries
from around the world, from people desiring to know more. The
next issue was a collection of testimonies and experiences from
saints in Yahshua who sought this Heavenly-Ordained assistance
in fighting sin. Please take note of the variety of different
approaches these each took.

Two issues later, the HaShem Magazine offered a
thought-provoking review of sanctification, built around a study
of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness.

Today I remain good friends with the Congregation of Yahweh,
Nottingham, having kept Unleavened Bread there in 2004. With a
new, major thrust towards an Evangelical Effort, their liturgy
is a lvely blend of Classical Sacred Name Doctrine and
Evangelical outreach. Beware, these fine saints have no time for
legalism, and are anxious to distance themselves from such.
Once you receive Sanctification, the battles will not be over,
but the advantge will have shifted dramatically in your favor.
Be blessed!
